Cookie Policy

The cookies and similar technologies we use on the Hubber website and app, what each type does, and how you can control them.

Last updated: September 3, 2026

The short version

  • Strictly necessary cookies keep you signed in and let orders work — the platform cannot run without them.
  • Functional, analytics and marketing cookies are optional and improve the product or measure our campaigns.
  • Some cookies are set by our analytics, support, payment and advertising providers.
  • You can block or delete cookies in your browser, and reset the advertising identifier on your phone.

This summary is for convenience only. The numbered sections below are what actually applies.

1. What This Policy Covers

This policy explains how Hubber Technologies Limited uses cookies and similar technologies on hubber.com.ng and in the Hubber mobile application.

It should be read with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

2. What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let a site remember your actions and preferences between pages and visits.

We also use similar technologies:

  • Local storage — stores data in your browser or app, for example a draft or a saved preference.
  • Pixels and tags — tiny images or scripts that record that a page was opened or an action taken.
  • Mobile identifiers — device-level identifiers used in the app in place of cookies.
  • Software development kits (SDKs) — code from our providers that collects analytics and crash information in the app.

In this policy, “cookies” covers all of these unless we say otherwise.

3. Cookies We Use

Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the Platform to work. They keep you signed in, secure your session, protect against cross-site request forgery, balance server load and remember items you have added to an order. The Platform cannot function without them, so they are not subject to consent.

Functional cookies. Remember choices you have made — language, saved filters, recently viewed products, whether you have dismissed a notice — so you do not have to set them again.

Analytics cookies. Help us understand how the Platform is used: which pages are visited, which features are used, where people drop out of a flow, and which errors occur. We use this in aggregate to improve the product.

Marketing cookies. Used to measure the performance of our campaigns and, where you have consented, to show you relevant advertising on other platforms and limit how often you see the same advert.

Security and fraud-prevention cookies. Help us detect unusual activity, automated abuse and fraudulent transactions, and protect your account.

4. First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

First-party cookies are set by Hubber and are used only for the purposes described here.

Third-party cookies are set by providers we use, such as analytics, crash reporting, customer support, payment and advertising services. These providers process data under their own privacy policies, and we recommend that you review them.

5. How Long Cookies Last

  • Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser or the app.
  • Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them. Ours typically last from a few days up to twelve months, depending on their purpose.

6. Your Choices

Consent. Where required, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time.

Browser controls. Most browsers let you see what cookies are stored, delete them, block third-party cookies, or block all cookies. These settings are usually under Privacy or Security in your browser's settings menu.

Mobile controls. On Android and iOS you can reset or limit your advertising identifier in the device settings.

What blocking means. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in, order placement and other core features. Blocking functional, analytics or marketing cookies is safe — the Platform will keep working, and only convenience and personalisation are affected.

7. Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common industry standard for how these should be handled, so the Platform does not currently respond to them. You can still control cookies using the options in section 6.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
